– a dance cardio maven & new mom to baby girl, Harlow. We caught up with her at her home in LA to capture what a day in the life of Megan looks like, from dusk to dawn.
Here, we unwind with Megan after a long day to get real about style during pregnancy, skincare & beauty favorites, and life with baby Harlow.
Harlow is a good sleeper. I think she's tired now…she gets up only once at night which isn't too bad for a newborn. We have a 2:30 AM feed, and we're hoping by three months we can get her to sleep through the night. But we'll see, won't we? She also likes me to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. And mom's not a very good singer!
She doesn't have a specific schedule yet. We’re slowly getting into that phase where I know when she's hungry and her timeline, but she still is really telling us when she wants things.
I think as cheesy as it sounds, and everyone told me this as well, but just to give yourself grace during this time. There's so much happening - there's so many hormones happening - and I think we have such expectations on how we're supposed to feel. I think during pregnancy and during your post-partum journey, it's really just giving yourself the grace, because we're going through so much as women. Your body's changing, there's so many hormones, you're taking on a new role as a mom, and we have all of these expectations of how we're supposed to feel.
I would say my style is simple, classic, and feminine.
As far as skincare goes, I just started dry brushing in the morning which doesn't take long, but I really love it. It really makes me feel much more awake in the mornings. Also, I've just started using a gua sha as well. My skincare routine has always been really simple and quick. I try to only wash my face at night. I love a serum and a really rich face cream. I have really dry skin, so I use an oil after that, too.
The Sculpt Society brought me to LA. But also, all of my immediate family is in Santa Barbara which is an hour-and-a-half away. My parents and both my sisters are there, and I always knew I wanted to be on the West Coast eventually. The pandemic and having Harlow just propelled us here a little sooner than we thought!
