#BEAMOTHER WITH DEVON WINDSOR

3 min read

We caught up with the face of our Resort Collection, Devon Windsor, now in the thick of mom life with her new baby girl, Enzo. She gave birth at the beginning of September and catches us up on how her style has changed & what it’s like being on camera post-baby.

Baby's name & birthdate:

Enzo Elodie, September 8th.

5-10 word birth story:

Best day of my life!

Pregnancy/birthing wisdom:

Go into it with an open mind. Nothing will go exactly as planned and that’s OK. Try to be as positive as possible.

Favorite postpartum piece from A Pea in the Pod:

My postpartum style has consisted of anything stretchy that has buttons. I am nursing, so the button downs / stretchy tops are key for easy access!

Has your style changed throughout pregnancy & postpartum:

I would say I am more casual now. I used to get dressed up every time I went somewhere and now I’m into more comfortable pieces.

Favorite products every new mom needs:

Too many. I would say my favorites are the Owlet Smart Sock, Pipette products, the DockATot (or any lounger), and the Fisher Price Swing.

Juggling being a mom with everything else:

Every day is a different day! Some days are easier than others. It is a difficult balance, when I am working, I feel anxiety that I am not with her, and when I’m with her I feel anxiety that I’m not working. So, I think it’s all about balance. But so far, it’s going well and I also have a great support system.

Being on camera post-baby:

Honestly, I don’t feel too much of a difference. Obviously, my body isn’t exactly where it was pre-baby and that’s OK, but I feel great and that’s all that matters.

Feeding journey:

Right now, I’m exclusively breastfeeding, which has been an interesting journey and quite difficult. But totally worth it in my eyes. As long as I can produce enough then I would like to continue to do so. So far, I haven’t had any problems with making enough so that is a blessing.

Being a new mom:

Aside from it being a lot of work, it’s everything I could’ve imagined and more. I love being a mom and I have wanted to basically my whole life. She is also the cutest and most amazing baby, and I love getting to know her.

The best part is getting to know her and seeing her little personality come out a little more every day. The most challenging so far is the lack of sleep that comes with being a new mom.

Seeing Enzo for the first time:

I was just thinking: “oh my god this is my child!” And I couldn’t believe that my body made her and that she was finally here.

Free time (or lack thereof):

I can’t say I have a lot of free time. I guess any free time I have, I try to squeeze in a shower or a 20-to-30-minute workout or a walk. Or I am preparing dinner.

What self-care looks like:

It is quite difficult to prioritize myself when I’m balancing so many things. Honestly, it’s the little things like taking a shower or blow drying my hair or doing my make up. Those things make me feel more human. Johnny and I will also go on a date night here and there and that has been a lot of fun and important for us.

Postpartum beauty routine:

I don’t really have one necessarily at the moment as I am struggling with my skin. I was struggling with my skin before I got pregnant and now since having Enzo the acne is creeping back in! I’m guessing it’s because my hormones are a little crazy right now especially with breastfeeding. So right now, my routine is pretty simple with a few prescriptions from my dermatologist.
